Distributional Consequences of New Energy Technologies and Policies

The research sponsored by this project will examine new technologies such as fracking, real-time electricity pricing, and grid-scale renewable power, and changing policies such the implementation of tradable carbon emissions permits and the rollback of fuel economy standards. The goal will be to ask how those technologies and policies affect economic efficiency and equity, and to examine the choices policymakers have made in deploying those technologies and policies.
