The NBER Center supports yearly research projects on the economics of AD/ADRD, with particular attention to the priority research themes described in the link below. Two types of awards are granted each year (to those with a PhD, MD or equivalent): five READ (Research on the Economics of Alzheimer's/Dementia) one-year grants for up to $200,000 in total research costs, and five EC-READ (Early Career — Research on Economics of Alzheimer's/Dementia) grants for up to $50,000 in direct costs, designed to support early-stage investigators, with research to be completed over one or two years. Applications for the 2026 proposal cycle are closed. Please subscribe to our Center Announcements to receive notification of when our 2027 call for proposals is released.
