2025-31 Pilot 4: Variations in Housing Conditions and their Effect on Health Outcomes

This project explores the prevalence of housing code violations in Washington, DC, the differences in such violations between households in various demographic groups, and the impact of living in sub-standard housing on health and mortality. It also lays the groundwork for a future experimental intervention that directs patients at Howard University Hospital to volunteers who advocate for tenants in the legal system and then assesses their effect on health outcomes.
