Connect a HP MFD to Your PC

  1. Ensure that you are connected to an NBER network. This includes both wired Ethernet connections and NBER Wi-Fi. Please note that NBER guest Wi-Fi does not support printing.
  2. In a web browser, go to https://back.nber.org/help/printers/mfd/ and download the upd-pcl6-x64-7.0.1.24923.exe file. Run the program. 
  3. Select Traditional Mode.Select Traditional installation mode
  4. Select Add a printer using IP address or hostname.Select 'Add a printer using an IP address or hostname'
  5. Select Autodetect for device type.Type name of the MFD in the 'Hostname or IP address' field
  6. Type in hostname of HP MFD. It is labeled on the MFD.
  7. If asked which printer driver to install, select HP Universal Printing PCL 6 (v7.0.1).Make sure to select (v7.0.1)
  8. Select Replace the current driver.
  9. Select Do not share this printer.
  10. Print a test page to confirm connection.
