Roybal Center for Behavior Change in Health - Clinical Trial Applications
The NBER Roybal Center for Behavior Change in Health seeks proposals for research projects that involve randomized controlled trials (RCTs) or other NIH-defined clinical trials. Proposed trials must have an anticipated start date of June 1st, 2027, and each project may request funding of up to $260,000 including indirect costs. Please note that delays during the NIH approval process are likely, so you must be able to defer your trial start date.
This year, we are pleased to be participating in the 2026 National Call for Proposals administered by the Roybal Coordinating Center. Please submit letters of intent (LOIs) here by October 1st, 2026.
Investigator teams that are invited to prepare a full proposal will be informed by late October 2026. If invited, you will be asked to submit the information here along with a budget and budget justification by December 7th, 2026.
If you are interested in applying, please contact Abby Murphy (amurphy@nber.org) with any administrative or budget-related questions. For questions regarding the suitability of your proposal to the call, please contact Center PIs Marcella Alsan (malsan@stanford.edu) and Joe Doyle (jjdoyle@mit.edu), or NBER Strategic Projects Director for Aging and Health Research Sarah Holmes Berk (sholmes@nber.org).
We look forward to hearing from you!
