The National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), with the generous support of the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation and Microsoft GitHub, will hold a tutorial on Digital Economics and Artificial Intelligence for economics graduate students who have completed at least two years of Ph.D. course work. The meeting will take place from 9 AM-5 PM on September 21, 2023 in Toronto, Canada. This will be the single such meeting for the 2023-2024 academic year. It will be organized by NBER Research Associates Avi Goldfarb (University of Toronto) and Catherine Tucker (MIT).
The tutorial will introduce this area of research and provide participants with an opportunity to hear presentations by, and to interact with, research leaders. In addition to a general introduction to the core research topics in the digital economics and artificial intelligence. All attendees must be fully vaccinated.
The NBER will defray a fraction of the hotel costs for students who are invited to attend and who need such accommodations. Students will be expected to cover their own travel expenses. A small number of bursaries are available to students who cannot access funds from their own universities.
