Digital Economics and AI Tutorial
The National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), with the generous support of the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, will hold a tutorial on Digital Economics and Artificial Intelligence for economics graduate students who have completed at least two years of Ph.D. course work. The meeting will take place from 1pm on Wednesday, February 11 through 12pm on Thursday, February 12, 2026.
The tutorial will introduce research topics on digital economics and AI and provide participants with an opportunity to hear presentations by, and to interact with, research leaders. Participants will also be invited to attend the NBER Digital Economics and AI meetings, also at Stanford University, on February 12 and 13.
The NBER will provide funding to cover a part of the hotel costs for students who are invited to attend and who need such accommodations. Students will be expected to cover their own travel expenses.
To apply to attend the tutorial meeting, please prepare an application of no more than three pages, in a single pdf file labeled with the applicant's name, with the following information:
- Contact information, including email address;
- A short description of the course of graduate study pursued and the years of enrollment in the PhD program;
- A short description of research interests, any research projects that are in process, and when appropriate, a dissertation title, short description, and list of committee members.
Please upload applications, the deadline for submission is 11.59pm EST on December 1, 2025.
This is an invitation only event. Even students who do not need hotel accommodations must apply in order to attend.
