NBER E-MAIL LISTS

The NBER maintains a mailing list for each program and project. Any mail sent to a listname (one of the addresses listed below) will be forwarded to every member of the program/group. These lists are not just for official announcements; you should feel free to post any field related questions. Routine administrative traffic intended for NBER staff should be sent directly to the staff member(s) in question.

Certain traffic is specifically discouraged on the family list (family@nber.org):
  • address changes
  • real estate wanted/available
  • virus warnings
  • promotion of students for jobs
Except for virus warning traffic, all of this is should be limited to the program/group lists.

Address change messages may go to program lists, but please also cc: updates@nber.org. Address change notices are not permitted in the family list itself.

Postings to any list should be straight ASCII, (not HTML) with reasonable line lengths and no binary or executable attachments. All lists are moderated, so there will be a delay before propagation. If you don't see the material in your inbox within 24 hours, notify the NBER computer staff.

If a message is sent to several lists at the same time (multiple addressees in the TO: field) our software will send only one copy to each receipient, even for receipients that are members of multiple programs.
