Introduction to "The Economic History of American Inequality: New Evidence and Perspectives"

This book is a collection of seven essays presented at a conference at the National Bureau of Economic Research in April 2023 and subsequently revised from discussion at the conference and comments from reviewers. Sponsored by the NBER, Boston University, Princeton University, Vanderbilt University, and the University of California at Los Angeles, the conference was entitled “Historical Labor Markets and Inequality.”
