NBER-IFS International Network on the Value of Medical Research

Activities
Our goal is to foster research that will advance studies and methodologies on the value of medical research. We will do this by bringing together people with expertise in multiple disciplines, contributing to a greater flow of knowledge across groups, and enhancing the training of early career researchers who are interested in a wide range of issues.

In addition to generating spillovers across fields, we hope to create synergies by bringing together economists and other researchers from specific health-related disciplines.

We will host regular meetings where research papers can be presented and discussed by both senior and junior researchers, and will also provide funding for early career and pre-doctoral researchers in order to encourage them to enter the field and to provide some resources to cover research and network activities.

  • Funding for this network is provided by the National Institute on Aging through grant R24AG058049 to the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) and by the Economic and Social Research Council through grant ES/M008673/1 to the Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS).
