Dear Colleagues,

I am saddened to report that Sherwin Rosen died of cancer on Saturday
in Chicago. A great friend and colleague to so many of us, Sherwin
was one of the profession's best and deepest thinkers. His passing
is a major loss to the economics community and to all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held in Chicago, probably May 18. More
details will be forthcoming.
