Bank of Israel/CEPR/Eitan Berglas School of Economics Workshop on 'The

the Global Economy'
Tel-Aviv, 26/27 November 2000

On behalf of the organizers, Giancarlo Corsetti (Yale University, Università
di Bologna, and CEPR), Philip Lane (Trinity College Dublin and CEPR), Leo
Leiderman (Bank of Israel, Tel-Aviv University and CEPR) and Assaf Razin
(Tel-Aviv University and CEPR), I write to invite you to submit a paper
proposal, or express your interest in attending a Bank of Israel/CEPR/Eitan
Berglas School of Economics Workshop on 'The Analysis of International
Capital Markets', which will take place in Tel-Aviv on 26/27 November 2000,
under the auspices of a Research Training Network of the same name.

The organizers seek theoretical and empirical papers in the following areas:
microfoundations of international capital flows; international
macroeconomics; management of the international financial system; and
international taxation. There will be no published proceedings from the
workshop, but participants will be welcome to submit papers for a planned
special issue of International Tax and Public Finance, to be guest edited by
Giancarlo Corsetti, Philip Lane, Leo Leiderman and Assaf Razin.

Travel and accommodation expenses will be covered for all participants
according to the usual CEPR travel guidelines, but if you could contribute
to the costs of your attendance from a research grant at your disposal this
would free up space for someone else. Please indicate on your reply form
whether you will be able to cover your own costs, or whether you will
require funding from CEPR.

Note that it will not be possible to accept all applications to attend this
workshop. We would thus like you to simply confirm your interest in
attending the meeting at this stage and indicate whether or not you wish to
present a paper.

It would be a great help to us in the organization of this meeting if you
could please complete the attached reply form and return it to Kate Pedley
at CEPR by Thursday 15 June 2000. If you would like to present a paper,
please include an abstract or a copy of the paper with your reply form. We
will confirm participation in July 2000.

Yours sincerely

Kate Millward
Programme Officer
