Dear EEE Program Members -

     One of the EEE program traditions that was started by inaugural
director Don Fullerton, and continued by Catherine Wolfram, was
welcoming newly-appointed program members each spring.  Since this
year's appointments occur during a program director interregnum, I would
like to step in and play the "acting welcomer" role.

     I am delighted to report that three researchers have joined the EEE
program as Faculty Research Fellows:

* Clare Balboni of MIT, who studies infrastructure, climate change, and
transportation policy;

* Tamma Carleton of the University of California, Santa Barbara, who
analyzes environmental change and economic development;

and

* Edson Severini of Carnegie Mellon, who considers the effects of
environmental regulations and energy infrastructure on local
development, pollution, and health outcomes.

They were selected from a very strong pool of nominees by the EEE
program steering committee:  Meredith Fowlie, Michael Greenstone, Chris
Knittel, Matthew Kotchen, Wolfram Schlenker, and Catherine Wolfram.  I
hope that you will welcome Clare, Tamma, and Edson, and that you will
make an extra effort to reach out to them at the virtual Summer
Institute in July.

     All best wishes.
