Using behavioral economics to promote medication adherence and habit formation

Investigators:

Judd Kessler, Dmitry Taubinsky, and Eric Zwick

Summary:

Our broad goal is to study non-monetary interventions aimed at increasing adherence to medication regimes. In our baseline experiment, we plan to track daily adherence of patients to a prescribed hypertension drug using a new technology that electronically monitors when a pill bottle has been opened.
