The availability of potent highly active anti-retroviral therapy (HAART) has transformed HIV from being a uniformly fatal illness twenty years ago to a treatable chronic disease. Despite these medical achievements, a substantial minority of patients continues to suffer adverse health consequences because they do not adhere to their HAART regiment. This experiment seeks to use behavioral economics to increase medication among patients with HIV/AIDS.
