Dear Public Economics Program Members -

I am writing to call your attention to three public-finance-related
post-doctoral fellowships at NBER for the 2021-2022 academic year.
Through the generosity of the Peter G. Peterson Foundation, we are able
to offer two fellowships for the study of long-term fiscal policy.
Entitlement programs, deficits and debt policy, taxes and growth, the
political economy of fiscal policy, and similar issues are all within
scope.  With support from the Laura and John Arnold Foundation, we are
also fortunate to be offer a new fellowship for research on
inter-jurisdictional tax competition.  Research on the use and impact of
tax breaks for mobile corporate facilities, the cross-national location
of taxable income in response to tax rate differentials, the use of tax
incentives to attract entrepreneurs and innovators, and institutional
approaches to managing tax competition, and on related topics, would
fall under the purview of this fellowship.

Each of these fellowships will allow the recipient to pursue his or
her research without other responsibilities for the coming academic year
while visiting (public health conditions permitting) the NBER's
Cambridge office.  Further details on the application process for these
fellowships, which have deadlines of December 10 and December 29
respectively, may be found at

https://www.nber.org/career-resources/calls-fellowship-applications

I would be very grateful if you would call these fellowships to the
attention of students, junior colleagues, or others whose research falls
within these areas.

Thank you for your help.  Happy Thanksgiving!
