MEMORANDUM

TO: NBER Program on Technological Progress and Productivity Measurement
FROM: Ernst Berndt, Program Director
DATE: September 14, 2007
RE: Call for Papers

The Fall 2007 meeting of the NBER Program on Technological Progress
and Productivity Measurement will be held on Friday, December 7, 2007
at the Cambridge office of the NBER. Rather than organize this
meeting around a specific theme, I have decided to have this meeting
be a productivity potpourri day. Papers on any topic related to
innovation and productivity, price and output measurement issues, and
bibliometric tools are welcomed. Anyone interested in presenting a
paper should send an abstract or, preferably, a draft of the paper to
me (contact information is below) by Friday, October 12,
2007. Electronic submissions in Word or PDF formats are encouraged.
The program will be finalized and the invitations will be distributed
by Friday, October 19. Final drafts of the papers are due to the NBER
by Friday, November 16. Also, if you are particularly interested in
serving as a discussant of a paper at these meetings, let me know.

Although submissions from the NBER Productivity Program family
receive priority, if any of your colleagues have research that is
particularly appropriate for these meetings, please pass this
announcement on to them. Should you have any questions about the
program for this meeting please contact me at:

is scheduled for Friday, March 14, 2008.

CONGRATULATIONS!! To Chris Knittel (tenured at UC-Davis) and Amil
Petrin (tenured at University of Minnesota), who have just been
