Dear Colleagues,

Please forward this announcement to graduate students as appropriate. We
have had very good success with the previous summer schools, and so I am
confident they will find attendance at the 2016 school valuable.

Thanks for your help,

Steven

*2016 HCEO SUMMER SCHOOL ON SOCIOECONOMIC INEQUALITY*

*July 17-22, 2016 in Chicago IL*

The Human Capital and Economic Opportunity Global Working Group
<http://www.hceconomics.org/> is delighted to announce its Fourth Annual Summer
School on Socioeconomic Inequality <http://sssi.uchicago.edu/> (SSSI 2016),
to be hosted by the University of Chicago under the direction of Steven N.
Durlauf, Scott Duke Kominers, and Christopher Taber.

The 2016 HCEO Summer School on Socioeconomic Inequality will provide a
state-of-the-art overview on the study of inequality and human flourishing.
Participants will learn about the integration between psychological and
sociological insights into the foundations of human behavior and
conventional economic models. Through rigorous lectures students will be
trained on various tools needed to study the issue of inequality.

Students are selected from a diverse, competitive applicant pool and
represent many disciplines including: economics, public policy, sociology,
social thought, and social work. Faculty are selected by SSSI directors
from the field of economics. The summer school is open to Ph.D. candidates
from around the world. There is no program fee for admitted students.
Housing and some meals are provided.

SSSI has previously been held in Chicago (2012, 2013, and 2015), Beijing
