IO Program Director Transition

Dear IO Program Members -

Please join me in congratulating Jon Levin, who was recently selected as
the next dean of the Stanford Graduate School of Business. I know that
Jon will bring extraordinary vision, intellectual leadership, and
organizational energy to this new role, and that he will lead Stanford
GSB, already an extraordinary institution, to new heights.

Jon has informed me that when he assumes his new responsibilities on
September 1, he will step down from the IO Program directorship. I am
very grateful to him for his outstanding program leadership, and I hope
that you will join me in thanking him for his efforts. At the program
dinner in Cambridge on Friday July 22, we will have an opportunity to
extend our collective appreciation for his service to the IO program.

I would welcome your suggestions on the selection of Jon's successor.
In the coming weeks, I will reach out to a number of program members for
advice. Please feel free to send me your input. I am confident that we
will be able to recruit a new program director who will build on the
program's strong intellectual tradition. I look forward to hearing from
you; all best wishes.
