**********************      CALL FOR PAPERS     ******************
*************************************************************************

The NBER research program in Industrial Organization will hold its winter
meeting at the Stanford NBER beginning at noon on Friday, February 20
and ending about 5 p.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2004   The program will be organized
by Professors Severin Borenstein and Alan Sorensen.

The I.O. program meeting is used to discuss current research on topics in applied
industrial organization.   Our ideal is research at the working paper stage.  To ensure
that completed papers are available for distribution on February 6, we will decide the
program based primarily on submissions of draft papers.  These are the papers that
will be circulated to participants unless a revised version is received by the NBER
conference department by February 2.

If you have a paper you would like to present, please send a copy of the paper,
including a detailed abstract
, to the organizers no later than Monday, December 1.
Electronic submissions are preferred.  These may be sent in PDF or Word format to:

       Severin Borenstein  <borenste@haas.berkeley.edu>
       Alan Sorensen      <asorensen@stanford.edu>

If you are unable to submit a paper electronically, contact Professor Borenstein for
information on where to send a hard copy.

**THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS IS **
                     **   MONDAY, DECEMBER 1,  2003. **

If you know of others, especially junior faculty, who might have papers suitable for
this meeting, please encourage them to submit their papers to us.  We try to be inclusive,
but don't have every e-mail on our distribution list, and we count on your help to get the
word out!  While we have space for only a fraction of the submissions, we give each our
careful consideration.

Thanks!
