Subject: NBER Winter Program Meeting -- attention requested!

Austan Goolsbee and Dennis Carlton have received 7 submissions for the NBER
IO Winter meeting, scheduled for Feb. 7-8 at the Stanford NBER. This is
25-30% of our usual number of submissions, and none are from program
members. I am concerned, to put it mildly! If we've somehow scheduled
this meeting for a time no one in the program can make, I hope you'll let
me know.

If you didn't receive the call, the meeting is our usual Friday
afternoon-Saturday, and the call deadline was on Monday of this week--so if
you have a paper, please submit it right away (or contact Austan and Dennis
and let them know when you'll send it). If you need additional
information, please let me know and I'll get it to you. If you've
hesitated to submit a paper you have for some reason, let me encourage you
to overcome your reservations and send it to Austan and Dennis. If you've
submitted a paper, somehow it didn't get through. Please send it
again. Submissions should be e-mailed to:

DCarlton@lexecon.com
austan.goolsbee@gsb.uchicago.edu

I suppose I should add that if you don't have a paper, but you know of a
colleague who does, you should encourage them to submit it. I can't
believe there are only 7 IO papers of possible interest to this group!

Thanks for your help,

Nancy
