Dear Program Members -

Thanks to all of you for your kind wishes on my appointment as program
director, and for expressing your opinions on the number and timing of
annual meetings. Thanks also to many of you for making my first summer
institute such a successful one.

After collating all responses it is clear that the preferred choice is
one meeting, and that a date in early march (before spring breaks) works
best. So please plan for a spring meeting on March 10, 2010.

One reason for going to a single annual meeting is that attendance at
the annual meeting has been poor. I hope that this new approach will
increase attendance. I am eager to see you all in March, if not before

Jon Gruber
