To: NIH_LRP@LIST.NIH.GOV

Dear Colleague,

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) announces the opening of five
extramural Loan Repayment programs.  The online applications for these
programs are open now.

*  Clinical Research Loan Repayment Program;
*  Pediatric Research Loan Repayment Program,
Health Disparities Research Loan Repayment Program
   (deadline date to be announced)
*  Clinical Research Loan Repayment Program for Individuals from
Disadvantaged Backgrounds (deadline date to be announced); and
*  Contraception and Infertility Research Loan Repayment Program.

The extramural NIH Loan Repayment programs provide for the repayment up
to $35,000 of the principal and interest of qualified educational loans
for health professionals who agree to conduct research for two years.
Applicants must commit 50 percent of time, or not less than 20 hours per
week, to the research project.

An important change this year is that applications will be accepted to
the 2003 Clinical Research and Pediatric Research Loan Repayment
Programs from health professionals with research support from a
non-profit foundation, non-profit professional association, other
non-profit institution, or U.S. government entity (Federal, state,
local).  Program eligibility is no longer restricted to NIH grantees.

Please share this email with researchers in your department and your
colleagues around the country who may be interested in the NIH Loan
Repayment Programs.

Additional information and the NIH LRP online application are
available at the LRP Website at www.lrp.nih.gov.
