In addition to holding a research position at UC Davis, the candidate will work closely with the California Air Resources Board on environmental regulation and policy questions.

The bulk of the positions responsibility is divided between research and outreach. A successful applicant will be expected to excel at both economic research and the practice of public policy. This position will require the candidate to work closely with the California Air Resources Board (ARB) and support its economic analysis of environmental policy and regulation. The successful candidate will split time between the University of California at Davis and the California Air Resources Board in Sacramento. A major portion of the candidates research program should be on topics relevant to issues faced by the California Air Resources Board, such as but not limited to; the design and performance of cap-and-trade markets, emissions offset policy, or transportation policy.
Applicants should have Ph.D. in economics or equivalent fields. Persons with Ph.D. pending will be considered only if the degree will be awarded prior to the anticipated start date of July 1, 2015. The position will remain open until filled. Applications, however, must be received by December 15, 2014 to be assured of consideration in the first round.
