RE: Summer Institute 2008 Call for
Papers

It is that time of year when we start planning for the NBER Summer
Institute. The Development of the American Economy workshop will take
place from July 7-10, 2008 at the NBER's office, 1050 Massachusetts Avenue
in Cambridge. MA.

Howard Bodenhorn, Michael Haines, and Zorina Khan will be organizing this
year's workshop. As always, we would like to have a range of topics
covered. If you have a paper that you would like to present, please send
an abstract to the organizers by MARCH 21, 2008. Electronic submissions,
copied to each organizer, are preferred. You should also feel free to
suggest interesting papers by those outside the DAE program, especially
those by junior colleagues who might benefit from exposure to the NBER (and
vice versa). Logistical information will be sent out in late April.

Please send submissions to:

Professor Howard Bodenhorn
E-Mail: bodenhoh_at_lafayette.edu

Professor Michael R. Haines
E-Mail: mhaines_at_mail.colgate.edu

Professor Zorina Khan
E-Mail: bkhan_at_bowdoin.edu

If you have questions regarding other aspects of the Summer Institute,
please contact Rob Shannon in the NBER's Conference Department,
617/868-3900 (phone), or e-mail rshannon_at_nber.org

We look forward to seeing you all in Cambridge.
