I am very pleased to inform you that Effi Benmelech, who is an Assistant
Professor of Economics at Harvard University and a specialist in Corporate
Finance and its history, has accepted a secondary appointment as a FRF in
the DAE Program. Effi's primary appointment at the NBER is in Corporate
Finance. If you do not already know Effi, I hope you will be able to meet
him at the Summer Institute. Effi's research topics in economic history
have included usury laws and the 19th century railroads.
