We are very interested in contacting anyone who has used the 1990 edition
of the School District Databook (SDDB) CD-ROMS, or who can refer us to
anyone who has used them, or has seen a reference to their use in a paper,
or might know of anyone at the NCES or elsewhere that might have
documentation of how the data are compressed.
We wish to produced a flat file from the 44 disk set, rather than
use the rather awkward software provided for producing small reports,
however the compression technique is unique to this dataset, and we
are unable to locate any documentation about how the compression is
achieved, or to decode it ourselves.
