NBER Summer Institute Workshop: Development Economics
July 25-26, 2013
Esther Duflo, Duncan Thomas and Chris Udry, Organizers

We are very pleased to announce that the inaugural meeting of the
Development Economics program will be help as part of the NBER's
Summer Institute in Cambridge, MA on Thursday July 25 and Friday July 26, 2013.

We are writing to invite you to submit a paper for the program. All
papers in development will be considered and we plan to have six or
seven papers presented each day with plenty of time for discussion.
If you have a paper that you would like to present, please upload a
copy here by March 30, 2013:
http://www.nber.org/confsubmit/backend/cfp?id=SI13DEV.

You are welcome to forward this call for papers to colleagues who may
have a paper suitable for the program.

We regret that, because of resource constraints, it will not be
possible to respond to everyone who submits a paper. You will be
contacted only if your paper has been included on the program. In
addition, this call for papers is being widely distributed and since
the meeting room is small, we regret that it will not be possible
invite everyone who receives this call to the meeting.

Invitations and logistical information will be distributed in late
April. If you have any questions or need additional information
please contact Rob Shannon in the NBER's Conference Department at
617/868-3900 or rshannon_at_nber.org.

Please also note that the second meeting of the NBER Development
Economics program will be help on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 October
2013 in Cambridge, MA. The meeting will be help jointly with the
Bureau for Research on the Economic Analysis of Development (BREAD).
A call for papers will be distributed later this year.
