Second Annual Conference on Macroeconomics Across Time and Space
May 23 and 24, 2008 - Philadelphia, PA

(Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia and the NBER)

The second annual meeting of the "Macroeconomics Across Time and Space"
working group will be held at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia on
May 23 and
24, 2008.

The aim of the group is to bring together the large number of researchers
in aggregate economics who are using modern dynamic theory to investigate
substantive historical questions. These questions cover, but in no way are
limited to, the study of great depressions; industrial revolutions; the
diffusions of new technologies;
secular shifts in hours worked and leisure; long-run trends in marriage,
women's labor supply, and fertility; the impact of institutions on economic
growth; the rise in urbanization; the growth and location of business; the
westward expansion of the United States; analyses of banking and credit
arrangements; and medieval monetary economics.

The deadline for submissions is March 28.
