Hi again,

So in case you ever run into an issue where you enter an empty room and
don't see a fully decorated 4 room space. Please "reset position" as shown
below. This should take you to our party.

Hey David,
For some reason I'm having trouble with the new gather/holiday edition.
When I check it out with my remote desktop connection, I can see
everything. But when I go in to chrome on my laptop, none of the features
show up. It looks like an empty room? Not sure if this is something you
can help with?

Thanks,
Alison

Dear Staff Colleagues -

I look forward to seeing you at our holiday party on Wednesday.Â
We'll gather, on Gather, at 11am. I am very grateful to David, Kevin, and
Rob for developing plans that should be fun for all of us.

David has already circulated the link for the party, along with some
directions for using the Gather platform. For reference, it is:

https://gather.town/app/FwHabX99TImsWBVV/NBERholiday <
https://gather.town/app/FwHabX99TImsWBVV/NBERholiday>

The Gather space will be configured with four different "rooms," each with
a different activity:

* Room 1: Photo-sharing from holiday seasons past. If you send David (
davidjan_at_nber.org) a photo by mid-day tomorrow, he will include it in the
slide show. Participants can provide a bit of explanation on the setting
for the photo. I have shared a photo of 3-year-old Jim in clown pajamas...

* Room 2: Pictionary Room

* Room 3: Trivia Room

* Room 4: Cocktail Room: Recipe Swap and Conversation

We still need volunteers for the Pictionary and Trivia rooms -- if you
would like to help out by hosting either one, please email David. It
would be great to have two volunteers for each.

There was a groundswell of support at our recent staff meeting for
an "ugly sweater contest" that will be an ongoing feature of the party.
There will be small prize for the party participant who receives the most
votes for the ugliest sweater; please search your closets and come prepared!

I will take the opportunity at the start of the party to acknowledge
several of our staff colleagues who have reached employment milestones this
year, and also to describe the charitable gifts that we have made,
collectively, following on our staff meeting discussion.

I look forward to seeing you on Wednesday -- Happy Holidays!

Jim
