Replication code for "From Good to Bad Concentration?" By Matias Covarrubias, German Gutierrez & Thomas Philippon Last modified: 06/10/2019 ************* (open this window wide to improve readability) To generate replication results, simply run 0_DoFile.do from the main directory. This file will execute all required code from beginning to end. The folders have the following structure: "Data" contains all the do-files and data sources. "Raw_data" contains the sources and the do-files to work with them. Upon execution of the main do_files new final_data will be created. "Mappings" contains inter databases mappings. "Temp" is empty. Upon execution of the main do-files temp data will be stored. The raw files for Cumpustat_NA and Compustat_Global are not available beforehand since they are proprietary. They will be downloaded automatically from WRDS upon execution of 0_doFile.do, so long as the user has a WRDS account and has set-up an ODBC connection. For instructions to set this up, see https://www.stata.com/blog/wrds/Stata_WRDS.pdf. Data from FRED will be downloaded using Freduse. The remaining data are included in the Raw_data folder. "Figures and "Tables" contains the figures and tables that come out from the code. They are formatted just as they appear in the paper. The list of Figures and tables, with the sub-folder in which they are located is: Section Figure/Table Do File Sub-Folder (In Figures or Tables) Introduction Figure 1.
