NATIONAL BUREAU OF ECONOMIC RESEARCH, INC.

MONETARY ECONOMICS WORKSHOP

SUMMER INSTITUTE 2010

TRAVEL

The Bureau will reimburse actual costs of domestic travel (rail and air) for your round trip to Boston, up to $100 per day of participation, up to a maximum of $500.  (For example, participants who stay for three days will only be reimbursed up to $300.)  Travelers from New York and other areas where the round-trip fare is less than $500, will, of course, only be reimbursed for actual cost of their discount or shuttle ticket.  Full coach fares cannot be reimbursed.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE NBER WILL ONLY REIMBURSE UP TO THE TRAVEL ALLOWANCE STATED IN YOUR CONFIRMATION.

Ground transportation will be reimbursed up to $65 with documented receipts.  Parking at airports will be covered up to $60.  Current mileage is 50 cents per mile.  One night's reasonable lodging (based on the going rate in the area) will be reimbursed for trips 600 miles or longer,  provided the total for mileage and lodging does not exceed the discount airfare.

THE SUMMER INSTITUTE DOES NOT PAY THE TRAVEL EXPENSES OF THE SPOUSE OR OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS ACCOMPANYING THE PARTICIPANT.

HOUSING

Housing will be reserved, as requested, for all out-of-town participants.  A limited number of rooms have been reserved at the ROYAL SONESTA HOTEL, 40 Edwin H. THE BUREAU CANNOT PAY A PER DIEM OR REIMBURSE MEALS.

As in past years, all participants will have access to the NBER=s computer room at the Royal Sonesta Hotel where a number of computers with printers and email capabilities are available 24 hours a day.
