International Seminar on Macroeconomics
The 2023 meeting of the 46th annual International Seminar on Macroeconomics (ISOM) is scheduled for June 22 and 23, kindly hosted by the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre in Ispra, on Lake Maggiore, Italy.
We invite submissions for consideration. We are interested in papers in macroeconomics, defined very broadly, but with an explicit international dimension. "Macroeconomics" includes related fields such as trade, labor economics, finance, and public finance, provided there is some international component. We have a preference for applied papers. The research should be strongly motivated by real world questions and closely tied to real world facts and data.
Information about past meetings of the NBER ISoM is available at https://scholar.harvard.edu/frankel/international-seminar-macroeconomics-isom. The ISOM tradition is that half the papers are presented by an author or co-author based in North America and half based on Europe. Complete drafts of the papers will be due several weeks before the conference.
Papers presented at the conference are considered for publication, in the Journal of International Economics, in a special issue. The refereeing process is supervised by a Guest Editor, who will be Linda Tesar in 2023.
If you are interested in presenting a paper, please upload a pdf file (either detailed abstract or draft paper) by September 30, 2022 to the NBER conference link:

If you know of a good paper by someone else, please feel free to forward this call to the author.
Only authors of accepted papers will be contacted. Travel expenses for one co-author will be covered. The NBER will reimburse the travel expenses for the four paper authors based in the US; the local host will reimburse travel expenses for four based in Europe.
