No JBOD mode in Rocket Raid 1640

The Hightpoint RocketRaid 1640 SATA raid card offers something it calls a JBOD mode, however this would more accurately be described as "concatenated mode". There is no apparent mechanism for passing the disks through to the OS as separate drives and no obvious or documented way to use the card as a controller for a single drive, or multiple independent drives.

We were able to see the concatenated drive in FreeBSD 6.0 as /dev/ad4, but this was not of any use to us and we have not pursued use of the card to test it.
