RE: Call for Papers

Pierre Azoulay and I are co-organizing the spring 2008 meeting of the NBER
Program on Technological Progress and Productivity Measurement, which will
be held
on Friday, March 14, 2008 at the Cambridge office of the NBER. Although we
invite submissions on all productivity related topics, we are particularly
interested in receiving submissions of papers that focus on "the science of
science" -- measuring and modeling knowledge spillovers among scientists
and inventors using citations and other bibliometric tools, or carrying out
evaluations of alternative institutional arrangements for the funding of
science and engineering research.

Anyone interested in presenting a paper should send an abstract or,
preferably, a draft of the paper to Pierre and me (contact information is
below) by Monday, January 28, 2008. Electronic submissions in Word or PDF
formats are encouraged. The program will be finalized and the invitations
will be distributed by Friday, February 8. Final drafts of the papers are
due to the NBER by Friday, February 29. Also, if you are particularly
interested in serving as a discussant of a paper at these meetings, let me
know.

Although submissions from the NBER Productivity Program family receive
priority, if any of your colleagues have research that is particularly
appropriate for these meetings, please pass this announcement on to
them. Should you have any questions about the program for this meeting
please contact us at:
