The NBER has determined the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision with
regard to the Defense of Marriage Act ("DOMA") to be a qualifying event
for Flexible Spending Accounts. The NBER is holding *a special open
enrollment from August 15 to August 31, 2013 for researchers in a
same-sex legal marriage who wish to adjust his/her annual benefits
contribution.* The maximum contribution remains $2,500 for the calendar
year. Subscribers who fail to change their election during this special
period will not be able to do so again until the NBER's next regular
Open Enrollment period or a subsequent Qualifying Event (such as a loss
of coverage or a life status change) occurs. Please note that any
researcher taking advantage of this special open enrollment period will
need to provide a copy of his or her marriage certificate at the time of
enrollment, if he/she has not previously done so.

Attached to this email is a memo describing the NBER FSA plan and an
enrollment form. *If this open enrollment does not apply to you, please
just ignore this notification. *

Thank you for your help. Please let me know if you have any questions.
