RE: Summer Institute 2000 Call for Papers

This summer the NBER will be holding a Public Policy and the Environment
Workshop within the Public Economics segment of its Summer Institute. We
are writing to invite you to the workshop, which will be held on Monday and
Tuesday, August 7 and 8, 2000, in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

We plan to assemble a set of empirical and theoretical papers on diverse
topics in environmental economics. While we expect that several of the
papers will overlap with the field of public economics, we would welcome
papers that invoke concepts or tools from other disciplines including
industrial organization, law and economics and international economics. If
you have paper that you would like to present, please send it or an
abstract to the following address by MARCH 31:

         Don Fullerton
         Dept. of Economics
         University of Texas
         Austin, TX 78712-1173
         ph: 512/475-8519
         fax: 512/471-3510
         email: dfullert@eco.utexas.edu

Electronic submissions should be sent in Word, WordPerfect or PDF files,
sent as e-mail attachments.

Logistical information will be mailed to participants in April. If you
have any questions or need additional information, please contact Kirsten
or Rob in the NBER Conference Department at 617/868-3900, fax 617/864-1825,
or email confer@nber.org.

We hope you will be able to attend.
