MEMORANDUM

TO: NBER Program on Technological Progress and Productivity Measurement
FROM: Ernst Berndt and Christopher Knittel
DATE: January 12, 2009
RE: Call for Papers

The Spring 2009 meeting of the NBER Program on Technological Progress
and Productivity Measurement will be held on Friday, March 20, 2009
at the Cambridge offices of the NBER. Christopher Knittel of
University of California, Davis and I will co-organize the
program. This program meeting is a potpourri program, and we have no
single theme in mind. We invite you to submit proposed papers
addressing the various issues our productivity program has considered
over the years - and of course we are open to new ideas!

Anyone interested in presenting a paper should send an abstract or,
preferably, a draft of the paper to Christopher Knittel and me
(contact information is below) by Monday, January 26,
2009. Electronic submissions in Word or PDF formats are
encouraged. The program will be finalized and the invitations will
be distributed by Monday, February 9, 2009. Final drafts of the
papers are due to the NBER and discussants by Thursday, March 5,
2009. Also, if you are particularly interested in serving as a
discussant of a paper at these meetings, let us know.

Although submissions from the NBER Productivity Program family
receive priority, if any of your colleagues have research that you
believe is particularly appropriate for these meetings, please pass
this announcement on to them. Should you have any questions about
the program for this meeting, please contact us at:
