RE: Call for Papers

The Fall meeting of the NBER Program on Technological Progress and
Productivity Measurement will be held on December 2, 2005 at the Cambridge
office of the NBER. I have asked Pierre Azoulay to co-organize the meeting
agenda. Although we welcome papers on any topic related to innovation and
productivity, for this meeting we are especially interested in receiving
submissions on the topic of R&D, broadly construed. Such topics might
include estimation of knowledgeproduction functions, incentives for R&D,
the organization of public-sector R&D and its implication for growth, etc.
Anyone interested in presenting a paper should send an abstract or,
preferably, a draft of the paper to each of us (contact information is
below) by Friday, October 14. Electronic submissions in Word or PDF
formats are encouraged. The program will be finalized by Friday, October
21. Final drafts of the papers are due to the NBER by Friday, November 18.

Although we prioritize submissions from the NBER Productivity Program
family, if any of your colleagues have research that is appropriate for
these meetings, please pass this announcement on to them. If you have any
questions about the program for this meeting please contact us at:
