RE: Corrected Call for Papers

The winter meeting of the NBER Program on Technological Progress and
Productivity Measurement will be held on Friday, December 6, 2002 at the
Cambridge office of the NBER. The director of the program, Ernst Berndt,
has asked Bronwyn Hall to organize the meeting agenda. Although we welcome
papers on any topic related to innovation and productivity, we are
especially interested in receiving submissions in the area of R&D
economics. Such topics might include the determinants of R&D investment,
R&D strategy and decision making, the organization of R&D and the
implications of changes in corporate structure for R&D spending, public
policy towards R&D, and the impact of R&D on productivity and other
performance measures.

Anyone interested in presenting a paper should send an abstract or,
preferably, a draft
of the paper to Bronwyn Hall at UC, Berkeley by September 15. The program
will be finalized by October 15 and a discussant will be assigned to each
paper. Final drafts of the papers are due to the NBER by November 15.

If any of your colleagues have research that is appropriate for these
meetings, please pass this announcement to them. If you have any questions
about the program for this meeting please contact Bronwyn Hall at:
