Mailserver upgrade: proposed date: Wed, Dec 18 @ 4:30 pm.

Dear All:

We would like to upgrade our mailserver to a new server. We are proposing
to do this on Wed, Dec 18 @ 4:30 pm after the NBER Cambridge Holiday Party
as the Cambridge Office will be officially closed after the party. What
this means is:

1) You will not be able to send or receive mail for 30 minutes
(optimistically) to 4 hours (pessimistically).

2) Mail will not be lost. Incoming mail will be held at the originating
mail server till we resume.

3) You should not send any mail to mailing lists in the hour before
shutdown.

3) Email service will resume with all the same services and completely
user-transparent.

If this is a problem for anyone - such as a grant application deadline,
please speak up so we can reschedule accordingly. Thank you very much
for accommodating this transition.
