Congratulations to Jacob Frenkel

Dear Board Members -

     I hope that you will join me in congratulating our colleague Jacob
Frenkel, who has been nominated to serve as Governor of the Bank of
Israel. When confirmed, Jacob will be returning for a second tour of
duty; he served as Governor between 1991 and 2000.

     Jacob will bring great wisdom, insight, and judgment to this role,
during what is sure to be a challenging period for central bankers
everywhere. We wish him all the best in this important public service.
