Dear All,

We are writing to update you on recent developments in the NBER Monetary
Economics Program.

This past year we have appointed three new faculty research fellows: Emi
Nakamura and Jón Steinsson from Columbia, and Yuriy Gorodnichenko from
Berkeley. We have also cross-listed three FRFs from other NBER programs:
Nicholas Bloom from Stanford, Guido Lorenzoni from MIT, and Justin Wolfers
from Wharton. Kenneth Kuttner, soon to be from Williams College, has been
promoted to research associate, and Pete Klenow from Stanford has been
cross-listed as a research associate in our program. We are delighted
with all these additions and look forward to welcoming our new members at
Summer Institute.

The Monetary Economics Summer Institute meets the week of July 7-11 this
year. A likely high-point will be a discussion with Larry Summers on
recent developments in financial markets on Thursday, July 10th. The fall
program meeting will be in Cambridge on Friday, November 14th. It is
being organized by Ricardo Reis and Michael Woodford.

As always, we want to encourage you to consider running your grants
through the NBER. The NBER grants administration group is the best
around, and the overhead is a wonderful thing!

With best wishes,

Christy and David
