Dear RAs and FRFs in the Law and Economics Program,

As you all know, Marty Feldstein is retiring from service as the CEO of
NBER, and Jim Poterba is succeeding him. Jim is stepping up the focus on
NSF grant applications by NBER affiliates.

Would you like to get a third month of summer research support even if you
only get two months from your institution? Would you also like to have a
gift of 20% of your grant award as a free pension benefit from NBER? (This
is done for all grants.) If so, please apply for an NSF grant. Obviously,
you can benefit even more if your institution provides less than two months
of summer research support, but many people seem unaware of the opportunity
to get a third month even if one is already getting two months.

The deadline is August 18. Please contact Alison Oaxaca (aoaxaca_at_nber.org)
if you are interested in further exploring the possibility of
applying. The NSF grants web page seems to be at
http://www.nsf.gov/funding/pgm_list.jsp?org=SES.

Thanks for considering.

Christine
