M E M O R A N D U M TO: International Trade and Investment Program Member and Invitees FROM: Lita Kimble DATE: January 23, 2001 RE: Program Meeting, March 16-17, 2001 Enclosed please find the preliminary agenda for the Spring International Trade and Investment Program Meeting, which is being organized by James Harrigan. The meeting is scheduled for March 16-17 at the Bureau's Cambridge offices, 1050 Massachusetts Avenue, (617) 868-3900. All of the papers on the agenda are critical literature reviews of an area of empirical international trade, to be published in The Handbook of International Trade, forthcoming from Basil Blackwell and edited by James Harrigan. Everyone is invited to the group dinner to be held on the evening of March 16 at a location to be arranged in Cambridge, at 6:30 PM. Out of town participants will be housed, as requested, at the Royal Sonesta Hotel. The NBER will cover the cost of your room and tax for up to TWO NIGHTS depending on your point of origin. If you wish to stay additional nights the rate is $159.00 per night, single or double occupancy, plus 12.45% tax. The NBER will also cover travel expenses in accordance with the enclosed travel regulations. Please read these regulations carefully because there are limitations to what the Bureau can reimburse. Travel expense reports will be made available at the conference. Please return the completed and signed form along with your original receipts to the Conference Department. Please fill out the enclosed reply form and return it in the envelope provided at your earliest convenience. You may fax your reply to us at 617/864-1825. In order to guarantee space at the hotel we need to receive your reply by FEBRUARY 15, 2001.
