Dear all,

Following on from the email that Rob sent from us both in August, I just want to again thank Rob on behalf of the whole program for his outstanding leadership, and for all that he has done to develop the group and the field of international economics as a whole.

As a reminder, the upcoming ITI winter meeting will be held on Friday-Saturday, December 2-3, 2017, at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research (SIEPR). Please submit papers electronically by MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, to:

http://papers.nber.org/confsubmit/backend/cfp?id=ITIf16

In terms of future meetings, the ITI Spring meeting will be held from March 31-April 1, 2017 at the NBER in Cambridge. The ITI Summer Institute (organized by Marc Muendler and Jon Vogel) will take place from Monday-Thursday, July 10-13, 2017 in Cambridge.

In the light of the growing recent research on trade and geography, which many people in the group are advancing, we are planning an experimental one-day conference on this topic on March 30, 2017 in Cambridge, immediately before the Spring meeting. We plan to reach out for that conference to other NBER programs approaching the same issues from different perspectives to try to enhance interactions across the programs. A separate call for papers for that conference will follow in due course.

Thanks to all those who completed the NBER Summer Institute Questionnaire. The (anonymous) feedback is generally extremely good and we will work to improve in the areas where suggestions were made. In addition, I would very much welcome any specific comments, feedback and suggestions to me personally (either about the Summer Institute or about anything relating to the group) at reddings_at_princeton.edu<mailto:reddings_at_princeton.edu>.

Looking forward to catching up at the winter meeting.

With Best Regards,

Steve
