Dear Colleagues,

Perhaps a junior colleague or finishing PhD student would be interested in
this opportunity.

The Department of Economics at the University of Calgary is inviting
applications for a visiting scholar position in the Department for the
months of July and August of 2009. The position is an opportunity for
visiting scholars to make progress on their research, to engage in the
academic and social life of the department and to take in Calgary and the
nearby Canadian Rockies. The purpose of the visiting scholar program is to
meet and engage young scholars working in related areas and foster
collaboration. The ideal applicant would be a junior scholar one to five
years from PhD with a specialization or interest in the fields of
environmental and resource economics, international trade or economic
growth. More senior candidates are welcome to apply. We will provide a
comfortable one bedroom apartment on campus (with maid service, internet
access, laundry, etc), $1500 US dollars to defer travel costs to and from
Calgary, office space, and light secretarial support. Visits of either one
or two months will be considered.
