Dear IFM Colleagues --

I am very sorry to share the sad news that Martin Evans, a former
NBER affiliate and a frequent participant in IFM program meetings, passed
away on November 19th, 2021. He was Full Professor in the Economics
department at Georgetown University.

Over the years, Martin made a number of important contributions to
international finance, notably on the microstructure of foreign exchange
markets. He co-authored many papers with members of our program.

Martin received a B.S. in Economics in 1983 from Bristol University and a
PhD in Economics from Princeton University in 1987. He taught at NYU Stern
before joining Georgetown in 1996.

He will be deeply missed.
