NBER Chinese Economy Working Group Meeting

SUBJECT: Chinese Economy Meeting: Beijing, China, September 10-11, 2018
The National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) Chinese Economy
Working Group will hold its Fall 2018 meeting in Beijing,
China. This meeting is co-sponsored by and will take place at the
School of Economics and Management at Tsinghua University on
September 10-11, 2018.
The meeting welcomes new and interesting research on all aspects of
the Chinese economy, and is open to papers from a variety of fields.
This Fall 2018 meeting gives some preference to papers in the areas
of finance and macroeconomics.
The conference does not publish proceedings or issue NBER working
papers - it is presumed that most of the presented papers will be
published later in academic journals.
If you are interested in presenting a paper this year, please upload
a pdf file by April 26, 2018, using the following website:

If you know of a good paper that fits our needs, please feel free to
forward this call to the author.
Preference will be given to empirically oriented papers or applied
theory papers with clear empirical implications for which at least a
preliminary draft is ready by the time of the submission. Only
authors of accepted papers will be contacted.
Economy class airfare, as well as local travel and accommodation,
will be provided for up to two authors of each paper and for
discussants. (NBER Research Associates will be reimbursed for an
amount sufficient for a reasonably priced business class fare.)
