Dear IFM Member:

We are pleased to invite you to the second annual one-day conference on the Politics and Economics of International Finance (PEIF), to be held at Harvard on Saturday, April 2, 2016. Although this meeting is not affiliated with the NBER, we have timed it take advantage of the IFM program meeting Friday, April 1. PEIF will pay for the additional hotel night, Friday.

The annual meeting is made possible by a gift from Andrew Quale, Jr., a lawyer with a long history of professional interest in international financial affairs, and is organized under the auspices of Harvard's Weatherhead Center for International Affairs. Our goal is to bring together scholars interested in economic and political-economy issues in international financial relations - not just economists but also political scientists and others.

Our first meeting was held last March at Harvard and was highly successful by all reports. The format this year will be the same as last year's meeting: Rather than asking scholars to present a single paper, we are asking three each to present a body of their ongoing research. Of course, this may include circulating a paper or papers in advance, but we are asking the scholar to present a broader overview of the work in progress. There will also be a roundtable discussion at the end of the day on an issue of current topical relevance. The program is attached.

Please let us know if you can attend by this Sunday, February 21, by emailing Sarah Banse.<file:///I:\wcfia.harvard.edumailto\sarahbanse_at_>

We look forward to seeing you in April!
